PTFE and PCTFE are two very similar polymers. PTFE is a more general material, widely applied in high temperature, corrosive chemicals, high voltage or high wear/friction. It has excellent chemical stability, corrosion resistance and tightness, high lubricity and non stickiness, electrical insulation and good aging resistance. It can work for a long time at the temperature of +250℃ to -180℃. Besides molten metal sodium and liquid fluorine, it can withstand all other chemicals and there is no change even if it is boiled in aqua regia. Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), also known as fluoroplastics 3 (F3), is a kind of chemical. It can be applied to make engineering plate, bar, pipe, corrosion-resistant pump, valve parts, suspension, anti-corrosion, electrical insulation coating and film. It is a white powder with a crystallinity of 85%-90%. The relative density is 2.07-2.18 and the refractive index is 1.429-1.439. Its melting point is 215℃, decomposition temperature is more than 315℃, glass transition temperature is 58℃, thermal deformation temperature is 75℃(1.82 MPa) and zero strength temperature is 270℃. It has good low temperature performance and its long-term service temperature is -200~300℃. It has excellent light transmission, ultraviolet, infrared and gas barrier properties and its chemical stability is second only to polytetrafluoroethylene.
