PTFE has very good performance, so the products produced by this material can be seen in many fields. Besides the ptfe tape joint sealing tapes we see in our daily life, this material is also widely used in the chemical field. So what chemical applications are there?

PTFE microfiltration membrane

PTFE microfiltration membrane is an ePTFE microfiltration membrane compounded on various substrates (such as polyester felt, PET, PP non-woven fabric, etc.) by special process. The coated filter clear teflon film not only keeps the inherent high chemical stability, low friction coefficient, high and low temperature resistance, anti-aging, etc., and can resist tiny particles, but also has incomparable air permeability, water resistance and other characteristics of the general coated filter high density PTFE cable film.

PTFE can be made into membrane with screening function. PTFE is a linear polymer, because of its high polymer chain and low cohesive energy, there is no suitable solvent to prepare casting solution, and ptfe cable wrape tape can only be sintered, cut, stretched or extruded to form a film. Make the intergranular region form pores and become microfiltration membrane. If combined with polyethylene mesh, it can be made into high strength microfiltration membrane. Its chemical stability is good, ptfe film tape is resistant to strong acid, strong alkali, strong oxidant and organic solvent, and its service temperature is high. However, the membrane has strong hydrophobicity, no water absorption, poor creep resistance and low bending strength, so attention should be paid when using it.

PTFE hose

PTFE hose and stainless steel metal hose have similar functions, fine appearance, no mechanical impurities, high strength, excellent chemical stability, corrosion resistance, sealability, self-lubricating non-viscosity, electrical insulation and excellent anti-aging ability, ptfe tape on garden hose can be used for a long time at -60~250℃, and have reliable and excellent corrosion resistance, which is used to transport strong corrosive media at high temperature.

PTFE laboratory supplies

Laboratory products such as crucible and beakers made of PTFE heat resistant teflon tape can be resistant to temperatures around 250 ~ 280℃ and have smooth inner walls. When using the crucible or beaker, it is necessary to put asbestos mesh under it. Although the temperature can reach 300℃ in a short time, remember not to contact with open flames. Because PTFE can withstand such high temperature, it is safe and nontoxic at the specified temperature of about 250℃, but if it continues to heat up, for example, if it exceeds 300℃, toxic molecules will gradually decompose. Crucible and beaker with colored teflon tape can be used for sample digestion, acid removal, boiling and evaporation. The appearance of PTFE crucible and beaker is pure white. According to the performance of chemical resistant teflon tape, the product of this material can resist corrosion, strong acid, strong alkali, aqua regia and almost all other organic solvents, and there is no dissolution, adsorption and precipitation. PTFE products are also resistant to atmospheric aging, irradiation and low permeability. All PTFE vessels will not be altered after long-term storage of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid, bromate and various organic solvents.

PTFE experimental products include: Petri dishes, crucibles, reagent bottle, test tubes, tweezers, medicine spoons, flasks, beakers with best pipe sealant, funnels, volumetric flasks, evaporating dishes, watch glasses, valves, joints, centrifugal tubes and so on.
